The Horses

Sequoia SSR is now 21 years old! It’s hard to believe that she’s been in my life for the past 18 years. I got Sequoia from dear friend whom I worked for in Portland. When I was going to Portland Community College taking Veterinary Technician courses, I landed an awesome job taking care of a small Haflinger farm nearby. It was my first exposure to the Haflinger breed. As I worked with them, I fell in love this them. They were so beautiful, personable and fun!

Sequoia comes from one of the original bloodlines out of Austria. Her Daddy is Alex M&B and her Mother is Siwa. Siwa and Goldstar were the first mares imported to Canada from Austria.

Sequoia is my Beginner lesson horse. She is quiet, gentle and really loves the kids. To see her respond to her young riders is a joy. I would love to have another Haflinger just like her!
